    Sunday Morning 1st floor lobby
There might be an empty bottle of rum.

There might be an open make up kit.

There might be hair in braids.

There might be younginated students all over the place.

    With braids. And make up.

There's definitely a speech teacher who needs a drink of water and some aspirin, stat.

CJ peels herself away from the snuggly wee!students and heads off to take a shower and get ready to drive to DC.

[[Last post ever! CJ will miss you all. You can defriend this journal now, using Edit Friends, or the Admin Console and entering friend remove prof_cregg. I'm just retiring it, so everything will still be available if you need linkage.]]

    1st floor lobby...still
She'd snuggled with Walter and talked about penguins, talked with Phoebe for a while and wiped away some tears. She'd gotten hugs from Bel, who begged her to stay. She'd fed Lana and Bear something more healthy than jellybeans, and gotten tickled by Blair. She'd talked to Elizabeth about giraffes and gotten more hugs, and even saw D'anna.

Now? Now she was indulging in a rum and coke since, in theory, all the wee!students were in bed.

Well that was a rip off. It blew in and out in less than a half hour and didn't even flicker the power. Sheesh.

I may abruptly drop off. We thought Thing 2 had an allergic reaction to something, but when we took him to the doctor this morning we found out he has orbital cellulitis. They pushed a high dose of abx, but if there isn't marked improvement by tomorrow morning or he gets worse overnight, I'll be in the hospital with him until he's better. Apparently there is a high child mortality rate with this kind of infection and needless to say, I'm kind of freaking out.

    Private Session
CJ's cancelled her office hours today. Instead she's waiting for Phoebe to give her the extra help she needs to pass Speech. Yeah. That's it.

[Session is ok for broadcast, but not the content. Closed door, yo!]

    128 Later Monday night [NFB]...[NWS]
After the movie, she lead Kurt back to her room for a glass of wine and some privacy. She flipped on her cd player, some soft 70's R&B playing low. She sat down on the couch and kicked her shoes off, leaving room for him.

    "Kurt? About last night..."

I can't help it. It's a meme. But in high school? This crap matters.

As fun as Fandom is, the lure of cocktails and Rob Thomas is stronger. Wednesdays' class is going to be late.

    See you tomorrow late!

    In the wee hours
She woke up groggy and stiff. Tommy wasn't around, but he was clearly watching Sportscenter since it was on...still. It had to be the only thing shown through the night on the sports channel.

She got up, stretched and yawned, and scribbled a hasty note for him.

    Sparky.
I'll collect on that movie later. Thanks for letting me sleep.
    Legs

She headed back to the school to catch a few more hours of sleep. She checked her watch and hoped that no one was up yet because she really didn't want to explain anything to people who probably wouldn't believe her anyhow. Not when she smelled like she'd spent the evening in a jazz club and looked like she'd fallen asleep sitting up.

    First Floor Lobby
CJ's got take out from Ching Tai and she's parked herself on the couch to watch tv.

There's far too much food for her to eat alone, if anyone can tolerate March Madness.

    After the Play
He'd held her hand from the first act on, and she'd blushed more than once. The, ahem, eros of the production didn't help either.

After the play was over, they wandered slowly back to the first floor of the dorms, neither quite ready to say goodnight.

    "So..."

    MEXICO to DC
Abbie was tipsy when they arrived in Cabo. ) But no one would tell her she'd clearly grabbed the wrong lipstick. Besides, it was Mexico...whatever shade she had on would soon be gone with salt and lime.

They'd spent the days on the beach and the nights at clubs like Disco Los Cabos, Again & Again, Latitude 22, and Cabo Wabo Cantina (the one owned by that rock singer). None of them had been sober since boarding the plane.
And Amy was so very good with the camera. )

Donna has made friends with a handsome guy at one of the clubs and he tagged along for a couple days until Donna figured out that acompañamiento didn't mean 'company'. They'd paid him and sent him on his way. Or so they thought...but,

Donna was awfully limber the next morning )

They'd all gotten their hair braided on the beach, spent obscene amounts of money in the shops, and slept where they fell, usually in Abbie's room.

Amy was relaxed for the first time in weeks. )

Her phone said that at some point she'd called Adam. That couldn't have been good...she really didn't remember dialing his number.

Abbie and Amy had to come home Thursday, so they took the red eye and CJ holed up with Donna for the day. They drank a lot of water, compared severity of headaches...and purchases.

And she slept. Donna's spare bed was leagues better than her bed in the dorm.

She'd drive home Thursday night. If she made good time, she wouldn't even miss that crime scientist show she liked..

    OOC: Gone-ish
I have RL hell with a thesis chapter due, comprehensive exams, and finals for my students. CJ's going to Mexico, Crowley will be around for the one or two people who might need him.

SPEECH WILL HAVE A SUBSTITUTE. THOSE IN 201, 301, AND 401 DO NOT GET TO SLACK. [insert evil laugh here.]

I'll be back in play this coming weekend. Thanks gang!

    The Call
She's used to getting up at 5, so when the phone rings at 4:30 it's not entirely unwelcome. Well, it is, but she'd never tell the woman on the other end that.

    "Claudia Jean? Let's get drunk."

    "Mrs. Bartlet? Abbie? It's...really early."

"I know. Get packed and get up here. We're going to Mexico."

    "We, ma'am?"

"Me and you and Donna and Amy."

"Doesn't josh need Donna to help with the...thing?"

"I'm rescuing her. Come on. Get up, get packed, bring that nifty shot glass on a string you have."

"But Abbie, Spring Break is over. I have to teach today."

"Claudia Jean, listen to me. I am not only the First Lady of the United states of America...I'm a doctor. I'll write you a note." *deep ringing laughter*

"I don't get to say no, do I?"

    "Not remotely."

"I'll be there in a few hours, give or take traffic."

"Marvelous. I'll see you soon, CJ."

    "Yes, Abbie. Soon."

She hung up and stared at the ceiling for a full two minutes before she climbed out and began packing. Swim suit. Swim suit. Dress. Tank top. Tank top Shorts. Toothbrush. Anything else...she'd buy down there.

Before she headed out the doors, she swung past the office and slipped a note under the door.

    FROM: CJ Cregg

Sorry for the short notice, gang. Emergency elsewhere. I need to go for the week. Lesson plan on my desk in my office. Contact Elizabeth Weir if you need any particulars.

    Tuesday Night in 128
She'd lasted all of two hours before she caved and put on K's Choice as soon as the Aimee Mann disc that Lucas had suggested was done. It was definitely music to mope by. But even listening to it, she couldn't help but smile a little. She couldn't believe that she'd picked up a guy in the Empire. Who did that...ok, who over 24 did that?

Dinner was great. He was a sweet guy, Orlin. They'd shared furry, nice thoughts, told their love life stories as fairy tales, and ended the night with hugs and kisses.

She climbed out of bed and put on the Violent Femmes. She had to agree with Lucas, Add It Up was the better track, but Blister In The Sun was more more radio friendly. But Please Do Not Go had to be the best track of all. Marco and his band had played that. She hadn't thought of Marco in an age...until she told Orlin about him tonight. With a smile on her face, she put the stereo on repeat.

    Wild Saturday night
After being an absolute helper at the clinic, she meandered her way through town back up to her room. She popped another pill and blessed the kindness that was Tommy Gavin and promptly fell onto her bed and went to sleep.

Of course, it might have been a good idea if she'd shut her door.

First night in the new room
The door to 128 is open. It's a dorm, afterall. She hasn't lived in a dorm in ages, but some things don't change. An open door is an invitation. Her music isn't obnoxiously loud, and she's finishing off a bottle of wine as she flips through a photo album.

    Six Months
    Six months.

They've been dating for six months.

Something about the fact that it happens to fall on Valentine's day makes it that much more sweet. She smiles to herself on her walk home, and opens a bottle of wine. She has plans for him this evening...oh yes she does.
